Les bulles ne sont pas visibles depuis la plage, il faut faire une dizaine de mètres dans l’eau avant de les voir
Attention lorsque la mer est un peu agitée ça devient très dangereux
We came here as part of an excursion and it was great. The champagne bubbles effect is wonderful to look at, and it's a very nice snorkeling spot, where you can see lots of marine life (underwater photos still on my action cam). Totally worth it!
Did this with our 8 year old and 10 year old and they loved it. Need to go a little past the jetty of rocks to see the bubbles. Very rocky beach, so bring proper footwear to walk on the rocks. Once you are in the water, no issue with the rocks. Decent amount of coral and fish, which the kids loved, but the bubbles are the real attraction here.
Unique spot to go snorkeling.it was a little rough getting in and out of the water as there are lots of rocks on the beach at the waters edge. However, the guides were very helpful in getting you in and out of the water and for pointing out the wildlife such as the stingrays in the water. The bubbles were amazing and very warm something you won't see anywhere else.but for the length of time it took getting in and out of the water and swimming to the actual champagne portion of the water, not sure it was worth it. The excursion included a drink on the beach and the weather was very accommodating, hot and sunny. There are 2 clean port-a-potties at the top of the hill. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone with mobility issues just getting down the steps to the beach was an issue.
Tried to moor up here but was chased away by CETI project boats. I’m not sure what the protocol is but FYI for cruisers.
Champagne Beach itself is rocky. There is no bathroom and the changing area is fairly primitive. That said, Donny is great! It was overcast & sprinkling the day we went out, but Donny was fun and knowledgeable. The reef was beautiful and there was a lot of sea life! Also- try the spiced rum! (4 stars for lack of bathroom) This is a fun, laid back adventure!
This is a nice snorkeling area on a clear day. Unfortunately when I went the water was a little murky. The changing facilities at the beach are not well developed and secure. The wind can blow the curtain and have you exposed while changing. There isn't a shower or toilet at the beach either. Maybe this may change in the future. You have to ask the shopkeeper for some water from a water tank or bottle. It's 25ec for the full snorkel set.
Make sure you wear Slippers when walking across the beach to the snorkel site because it is rocky along the shore.
The beach itself is not so nice as it mostly contains of stones. Water shoes are a good thing to bring.
The water is crystal clear and if you go towards the south end of the beach you will find lots of cool fish and the famous bubbles coming out of the ground.
I appreciate the work they did to make a nice beach close to Roseau. Cleared rocks, planted beautiful trees and flowers and have a nice small bar with cold beer. You can rent snorkels and they have paddle boards are well.
Nett aber überbewertet. Wenig Bubbels im Wasser und ebenso wenig Fische. Es gibt bessere Orte zum schnorcheln auf dominica.
Fun to feel the hot water coming out of the sea floor. Like swimming in champagne with all the little bubbles
One of the most interesting beaches in the entire Caribbean! You can rent snorkel and hire a knowledgeable guide on the spot for a wonderful Reef excursion.
Beautiful place with great snorkeling. Don't expect a sandy Beach. The coast is all rocks, but the area is visited because of the snorkeling. A somewhat long walk on the rocks to get there, but the snorkeling is well worth it!
If you are interested in a 200 yard walk down a steep hill and across about 100 yards of rocks slightly larger than a softball yes very tough even with shoes on then you are there the rockiest beach you have ever seen then you are in for a below average snorkel experience. Oh and a couple of guys posted half way there to charge you a few dollars.
Amazing place. Lovely snorkeling and a very quiet place. Bring your own refreshments as there are no services at this reef (maybe there will be as the island continues to recover from the hurricane last year). Stone beach.
