A great car rental company - highly recommended.

I'm often a bit wary when hiring cars as my experiences have varied with different companies.

No need to worry with these guys. They are helpful and patient when you arrive. We had no issues with the car for our week on the island so we didn't need any assistance.

We had a Honda HRV (all wheel drive). A 4x4 was definitely needed, especially if you're visiting the Kalinago territory.

Returning the car was simple. The car needs to be returned in a decent state of course, but there was no need to take it to a car wash (which some companies require).

They also sort out the temporary driving licences which are required by law on the island.

As stated before, I'd highly recommend them.

Great car, friendly staff but they did not actively release the deposit, despite having a statement from them that everything was ok with the car. Meaning, we received our deposit of a 1000 euros back only after the standard term of 30 days, just because they did not press the ‘button’ to release the deposit. This is not ok and if left us with mixed feelings

Very reliable, pleasant and honest - a great service, would recommend to anyone visiting Dominica. They picked us up from the ferry terminal and dropped us off at the end of our stay. Car was great.

Mixed feelings. The car itself was ok and company is responsive, but the rental agency returned the deposit of 1000 euros after one month. The rental agency said that we needed to contact mastercard, but the credit card company told us this is common practice. This is not ok, so I would not recommend courtesy car rental.

The Rav4 car supplied whilst old with 169,000 on the clock coped very well with all roads in Dominica. Pick up and return worked efficiently. Only problem we encountered was the morning of day 2 when to got back to the car to find a flat tyre. The supplied jack was the wrong type for this vehicle, it would not rise high enough to put the spare tyre on. Fortunately we were close enough to a village to enlist additional help in the form of two blocks of wood to place under the jack. Had we been in a remote location, the dilemma could have been disasterous. We emailed head office on the day and got no response which was disappointing.

We rented a car in January. The car was clean and in the good condition. One of the employeers gave us a good explanation of the car and also gave us tips on what to see on the island. He was always available and helpful. Especially when I lost all my headphones. He helped me find them and send them back to my country. I can only recommend this company and especially its employees, who were nice and helpful, and I thank them very much.

My wife and I rented a 3 door 4x4 from the Douglas-Charles airport. Pickup was quick and easy. The car was an older Toyota Rav 4 that got us everywhere we needed/wanted to go on the island. On our way to Scott's Head, the drivers side back tire started to make a grinding noise. We stopped at the Courtesy office in Roseau and they quickly switched cars with us. In no less than 10 minutes, we were back on the road. Overall, we had a great experience renting from Courtesy.

Seriously NO COMPLAINTS! Temp.drivers license provided at the office, pretty mellow, understanding staff, professional, efficient, they respond to emails, answer calls. They were the only ones I found with manual transmission vehicles available. The vehicle was pretty well maintained and gave no trouble and got 35mpg.

Friendly. Fast responders. Car had som bumps and scratches when picked up otherwise good car. Explains contract if questions. Encourage you to film the car at pic up wich feelt good, gives you the time you need for inspection of the car. Never hurried. No problems at all. Got my deposit refunded without problems. I recommend!

Friendly service, good location at the airport (they also have a location in Roseau), fair prices, and serviceable 4x4 vehicles (definitely needed to get around the island). As others have mentioned, the cars are high mileage and fairly beat up, but our car worked in every way we needed: engine, tires, A/C, etc. You aren’t going to find “new” rental cars in Dominica so these cars are about as good as it gets.

Note that they have both 3 door and 5 door RAV4s. The 3 door models are quite small.

They offer 24 hour roadside assistance and give you their cell phone number. I would rent with them again. I booked over their website/email and they were very responsive.

Great experience - they met us at the airport when our flight arrived and let us drop off by the ferry in Roseau. Even gave a very speedy lift to the ferry so we wouldn’t be late. Super friendly and easy, good prices, no hassle.

Honestly had a great experience renting a car with them. I made the reservation online and picked the car up in person. Had a great conversation with Roland in regards to possibly keeping the car an extra few days. I returned the car at the airport with no issues. Honestly will be renting from them again.

I read online and heard from a couple of locals that Courtesy was the best car rental company on the island. I did not try a different rental company, but I must say I was pleased with Courtesy. The company was very responsive to my initial questions. They dropped off my car as we agreed, although slightly late. The Toyota RAV4 was a perfect vehicle for Dominica and performed well. The seatbelt tensioners were loose and the wiper blades worn, but otherwise everything worked well on the car (4WD, engine, brakes, tires are most important). When finished, I dropped it off at 6am at the airport and it all went smoothly. I would recommend Courtesy to other visitors.

I was very happy with this company. On day one, I hit a big pothole and trashed the front tire. Easily changed (look for jack under front seat!), then we went to the capital just 15 minutes away. The attendant there got a new tire for us within an hour. As this is an island, I expected the tire charge would be very high, it was pretty close to what I would have paid at home. A pleasant surprise.

When you arrive at the airport, you may not see anyone at the office (a 3 minute walk from the airport). Just ask one of the other rentals to call for them. The person arrived in 5 minutes - they were out helping another renter. You will also get a Dominican Driver's License there. Mandatory, about $22 US.

I got bit scared after reviews, but I haven’t experienced any problems. Actually there was amazing helpful stuff, everything was clear, nobody tried to cheat on me. I got car, which I could see on website. It was older Toyota RAV4 with driven almost 200k, but it was working perfectly and got me to most wild places here. I read some tips that you don’t need 4x4. If you will stay on coast, you’ll be probably fine, but if you want to go to places like Chaudiere Pool, you definitely need 4x4. Driving in Dominica is fine. If you ever driven in South Italy, this is like lighter version of it.
I didn’t cause any damage on car, so I can’t tell how stuff here reacts on some scratches or bigger damage. Deposit for car was 2800 XCD (1036 USD). In total I payed for 4 days 625 XCD (230 USD) with extra coverage and local driving license. I used almost whole gas tank and refill cost me 110 XCD (40 USD).
