8A good starting point to exploring Dominica. Small museum, but you still learn a lot on this small island nation. I went to the island for the jungle and outdoor activities, but now I'm clued up on all the history. I also very much enjoyed the volcanic exhibition and being educated on the plate tectonics of the Caribbean region. This took up a large part of the museum. Also the staff were cool. Typical Caribbean - breezy and friendly. They gave out the WiFi code readily, and we were glad to have it at the time. That, and the air con. The museum is located in the main port in Roseau and was cheap too. Definitely worth a visit
I learned a few new things! Nice collection however would be good to use a museum expert to redecorate everything. It could be displayed and explained so much better.
3 usd per adult. Informative but quite small. Self guided at the time of my visit and took less than 15 min to see all of the exhibits.
This is a must to learn about Dominica’s very interesting history. Lots of facts about this beautiful island.
A decent museum which has various sections for geology, history, and culture throughout Dominica's time. The staff is very kind and helpful, and it only takes about half hour to view the whole museum.
A good little museum which is worth a half hour of your time. Displays about the volcanic nature of the Antilles, reef formations, indigenous society and how Europeans interpreted the early Caribbean. Moves on to how people lived and the impact of multiple hurricanes. Interesting throughout with reasonable explanations.
Wish they sold some of the books mentioned in their exhibits, would have bought one.
It is small and compact, but I enjoyed learning about Dominica while moving through the exhibit
OMG this is the first time I appreciate that much a visit in a museum.
This visit totally worth it.
We got so many explanation from the guide. Thanks to her, the pictures, the texts, the costumes came to life again through her explanations.
Thank you, we got a good idea of what is the Dominican spirit.
